How Journalism came to Me

I’ve always been a chatterbox, ever since I was a little kid. Even as a young child. I could spend hours telling stories, asking questions, or simply observing the world and sharing my thoughts about it. Talking isn’t just something I do—it’s part of who I am. I find joy in connecting with people, learning about their experiences, and sharing my own perspective. I realised early on that this ability to communicate and connect could be more than just a personal trait—it could be my superpower, a skill I could develop and use to make a real difference. That’s one of the many reasons I chose journalism as my path. Journalism isn’t just about reporting facts; it’s about understanding people, uncovering stories, and giving a voice to ideas and experiences that might otherwise go unheard.
When I was younger, I had a deep passion for writing. I would fill notebooks with stories, observations, and reflections, often spending hours crafting little worlds on paper. Over time, my focus shifted away from purely creative writing, but I discovered that writing about real events, people, and experiences suits my style even better. I enjoy the challenge of taking real-life stories and presenting them in a way that is engaging, accurate, and meaningful. Writing about others allows me to combine my curiosity, empathy, and analytical skills, which helps me tell stories that resonate with people. It’s thrilling to think that words can inform, inspire, and even spark change—something that has always driven me to explore journalism further.
Beyond writing and talking, I have a strong love for media in all its forms. I’m fascinated by how stories travel, how information shapes opinions, and how technology can change the way we experience the world. I particularly enjoy keeping up with the latest developments in science and technology, from breakthroughs in research to innovative gadgets and applications. I like diving deep into articles, podcasts, and videos, not only to understand the facts but to think critically about their wider impact. Media is powerful—it informs, entertains, challenges, and inspires—and being able to participate in that process as a journalist is incredibly exciting to me.
I want to explore stories that matter, share voices that might otherwise go unheard, and help people understand the world around them in a deeper, more meaningful way. I see journalism as a chance to combine all the things I love—communication, writing, media, and curiosity—into a path that is both personally fulfilling and socially impactful.
Choosing journalism is not just about following a career path; it’s about embracing a lifelong commitment to curiosity, creativity, and communication. I hope to continue developing my skills, learning from every story I encounter, and sharing experiences that leave a lasting impact on those who read, watch, or listen. Journalism allows me to be exactly who I am—a curious, talkative, passionate observer of the world—and I can’t imagine a better way to use my talents to contribute to something bigger than myself.
